With the support of the Ministry of Science and Education and organized by the “STEAM Azerbaijan” project, an additional project evaluation, selection, and assessment process was conducted among the teams that won first and second place in the Deep Dive (Underwater Drone) competition category of the International STEAM Azerbaijan Festival, held on November 17–19, 2025.
As a result, four participants selected from among the competitors earned the right to conduct research in the laboratory of the Research and Development Center of the “STEAM Azerbaijan” project.
It should be noted that within the Deep Dive (Underwater Drone) competition category, students developed ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) and AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) type underwater robots and successfully carried out underwater pipeline analysis and underwater cleaning missions.
The selected participants are currently engaged in research activities on underwater drone systems. The research covers the following areas:
• Electronics of ROV and AUV systems;
• Autonomous movement and control systems;
• Mechanical structure and industrial design.
The main objective of these activities is to familiarize young researchers with a real engineering environment, enhance their scientific and applied skills, and strengthen their technical knowledge and potential for participation in future technological projects.
